Marriage Hawaii

Recommend Maui or Kauai for a wedding/honeymoon?

We're planning a Sept/Oct wedding this year (just the two of us) and looking at either Maui or Kauai. I understand that both are beautiful, but that Kauai is more secluded (which we like), but we don't want to sacrifice options solely for that sake. Any opinions? Also on sides of each island to stay on for best chance of dry weather - thanks!

  1. If you want dry weather, forget Kauai then. sep/oct is the begining of the raining season over there. It is more secluded which makes the islands even more beautiful and they have fun activities you could do to see the best part of the islands. Maui would be your best choice if you want dry weather. Maui is more of the touristy island where theres so much to do. its more crowded too but its also beautiful. Dry weather or not i would pick kauai, its way more beautiful then maui and you can see it everyday when it rains or shines up there.
  2. for Dry weather....pick Maui!! Maui is very romantic and fun!! Perfect for honeymooners!!!
  3. Maui definately is better.
  4. Actually the raining season in Hawaii starts about the end of October and goes through January, though it's just a rule of thumb. You can get rain or sun anytime. The north shore of all islands, especially Kauai, gets more rain than south shores. This is why the north shores are lush and green. The rain doesn't stop people from going to Kauai. I've been going to the north shore of Kauai for 25 years and enjoy it any time of year. Kauai weather information can be found here (including average rainfall each month: http://www.summitpacificinc.com/kauai-weather.html Honeymoon accommodations can be seen here: http://www.summitpacificinc.com/kauai-honeymoon.html
  5. Maui, Four Seasons.
  6. Kauai by far....more romantic
  7. i went to kauai in 2007 for my honemoon...Its so beautiful..we stayed in princeville -sealodge condos d7 it was awesome the view was beautiful but i think maui is best for you if you dont want rain..it rained 3 of the 5 days we were there off and on but we still had a great time.
  8. Kauai is great! It offers many things to do and is less crowded.
  9. I LOVE Maui!! I was there two years ago for my honeymoon at the 4 seasons, beginning to mid Sept! It was great and would be a beautiful place to get married. We plan on renewing our vows there in 8 more years!
