how long does it take the state to send a new social security card when you had a name change due to marriage?

i live in hawaii and in order to get a new social security card for a name change they told me to fill out the paper and leave the marriage lisence in the envelope with the form. its been about three weeks and i still never recieved my new social security card or marriage lisence back. just wondering how long its supposed to take or whether something may have happened to my application...

1. It took me like 4 weeks to get my new social security card.
2. I live in Oklahoma and just got married in Jan. it took about 2 weeks but they should have gave you receipt or something... i would just call them!!!! Good Luck and Congrats!!!!
3. When I got married , I sent the items in and received the license back in two weeks and the card in 6 to 8 weeks. I really hope that you had a copy made of the license because , if you didn't, you will have to pay for another one. Just be patient and if it doesn't come back in 8 weeks , I would then go to the social security office and get real involved with the case. Another thing, did you get a name of who told you to do what you did when you applied for the new ss card? It always helps to have that info around.
