Sunset is romantic but I am worried the photos would come out dark. If we did sunset, we would have our photos taken from 5:30-6:45. How can we find a reasonable deal for a small, private wedding in Maui? My fiancée and I have scheduled a trip to Maui this February and we are looking to be married while we are there. We are hoping if we provide a few details about what we would like, someone will be able to personally recommend someone. Here are the details: - Private ceremony for the two adults, plus 7-year old son - Scenic background for photos, preferably a cliff or waterfall (but close to beach for some beach shots, too!) - Floral leis (2 adult, 1 child) - Assistance obtaining a marriage license - Officiant to perform ceremony – spiritual, but non-denominational - Photographer for 1-1.5 hours, and photos provided on CD That’s really it – very simple, short, and sweet – but scenic, private and plenty of nice pictures. Some resorts are charging $1000 without pictures - for basically a pair of floral leis and a ten minute ceremony. We know there are much more reasonable options. Can anyone help?

Are you supposed to tip your wedding coordinator? Is there a rule of thumb about tipping wedding coordinators? My mother's getting married, small ceremony, beach in Maui, and it's only like 6 of us, an archway, flowers, and a preacher and is about $3,500 this is INCLUDING her (coordinator) fee/ commission. My mom says she thinks she's supposed to tip her 10% of that. I think she's wrong. So ARE you even supposed to tip them, and if so how much?

Destination wedding, small guest list, who do we invite to the bridal shower? My mom and future mother in-law have requested I put together invite lists for the showers they are each planning. We are getting married on Maui in August, and kept the invite list minimal. However, we are having a reception back home in October. Is it appropriate to extend the invite to people that are included in the reception, although they were not invited to the wedding? How long is too long to wait when having a reception after a destination wedding? We are getting married August 22 on Maui. We were planning on a reception in September, however the videographer said our DVD wont be ready for 4-7 weeks. That makes our reception in October, almost 7 weeks after we said I Do....
